Do you want to study the ocean?
If so, this South African Ocean Literacy Programme opportunity is for you.
The International Ocean Institute Southern Africa (IOISA) has partnered with the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation for a free online course covering a variety of topics, from marine biodiversity, an introduction to ocean governance, and economic growth opportunities. The online course comprises six sessions between 19 and 29 June, with applications closing on 2 June. The training is suited to anyone with an interest in the ocean.
Ocean literacy is understanding the role the ocean plays in our day-to-day lives, which is critical to South Africans. It empowers one to make decisions that better preserve our natural heritage, opens opportunities in the blue economy, and enables people to become active and engaged stakeholders in a community.
