Lifeguards at Amanzimtoti main beach have pulled six people to safety after the boat they were in overturned in rough seas at about 10am this morning, Monday, 10 October.
The men appear to be KZN Sharks Board officials who were aboard the official boat when it overturned near Nyoni Rocks.
The Sharks Board boat was righted and driven to shore.
It is understood the boat capsized when the men were retrieving a bunched net from the side of the boat.
Lifeguards in the area noticed the men struggling in the water and immediately launched a rescue effort.
Netcare 911 paramedics treated the skipper at the scene, before transporting him to hospital. He was struck by the anchor on the back and head.
