Sapphire Coast Tourism frames Amanzimtoti’s beauty

Amanzimtoti Main Beach has a new and exciting addition of a giant photo frame that was recently installed. The frame is made out of recycled plastic planks, an initiative which forms part of the environmental project, Inkwazi Isu.

It is competition time with Sapphire Coast Tourism. The community tourism organisation is calling for creative design suggestions to brand the new photo frame. Submit your entries on or before Saturday, 31 October to stand a chance of winning a weekend for two at 305 Guesthouse. Email your entries to info@sapphirecoasttourism.co.za or romywenzel@gmail.com.

“Many thanks to Petco for generously sponsoring the new fixture which is going to offer great picture opportunities while visiting Amanzimtoti. The frame consists of four blocks that rotate with a total of 16 signs that are to display fun messages relating to beach life, things to do in and around Amanzimtoti, Sapphire Coast, and keeping the coast clean,” said the organisation’s Romy Wenzel.

In another drive to beautify the area, the organisation is proud to announce that an additional mural project is about to take off. The mural was sponsored by Sapphire Coast Tourism and supported by Polyco, in another initiative that forms part of Inkwazi Isu.

“This time around, local artist Christine Andrews will beautify the bridge and wall at the Adams Road intersection in Amanzimtoti. This is to welcome visitors from far and wide when exploring Toti and surroundings. While the taxi rank has received a fresh new look, further developments are to be implemented at the same area to ensure the reduction of plastic waste ending up in our environment.”
