TWO poachers’ boats, nets and illegal haul were on Monday night confiscated by Richards Bay community members against marine poaching who came across the illegal activity while on routine patrol.
‘One of our members was out patrolling and, at about 10pm, spotted the suspected poachers near the T-jetty at Alkantstrand,’ said Zululand Yacht Club Rear Commodore of Fishing, Morgan Smit.
Two poachers’ boats and about 500m of net will be set alight.
All the equipment will be burnt.
