Don’t walk alone, on secluded beaches, or in the early morning and evening.

David McCluskey (74) didn’t expect to be attacked and choked at 7.45am this morning while walking his small dogs on Lucien Beach. The Margate retiree is now warning beachgoers to be extra careful when walking on the beach in the early morning and evening.

Mr McCluskey said he noticed two youngsters on the beach. One walked past him while the other came up behind him and and grabbed him around the throat.

The men were scared off by a jogger who ran towards them. The men fled with Mr McCluskey’s cigarettes.

A case has been opened.
