Lake St Lucia looking good after rainfall

“ Good rains bring relief to Lake St Lucia“

ZO reader Hanlie Erasmus has sent in amazing photographs taken of Lake St Lucia’s False Bay section of the iSimanagaliso Wetland Park.

The photographs were taken at the same location and show how the level of the lake has increased over the last year.

The park received good rains in the southern sections, but towards the north, Mkhuze received much less over the weekend of 13 to 14 May.The level of the Goedertrouw Dam has increased to 32.1 percent by Friday.

At the same time last year the dam was at 20.4 percent of its full storage capacity.
