“ SALGA’s climate action has taken on a new urgency and people across the world and across all sectors are ready to take strategies to the next level “
KWADUKUZA Municipality has reaffirmed its support of the South African Local Government Association’s (SALGA) climate action.
The commitment was confirmed by KwaDukuza Mayor Ricardo Mthembu when presenting his municipality’s best practice strategies relating to climate change to SALGA members at the Moses Mabhida Stadium last Tuesday.
‘SALGA’s climate action has taken on a new urgency and people across the world and across all sectors are ready to take strategies to the next level.
‘This was especially clear at the Global Climate Action Summit held in San Francisco,’ Mthembu said. He said his municipality has set a target of a 42% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. ‘This target will be met through a combination of specific measurable low emission actions.’
