KwaDukuza bathing beaches opened for swimming on Saturday for the first time since lockdown began in March this year. KwaDukuza lifeguard superintendent, Bongani Xulu said the KZN Sharks Board had installed drum lines on all KDM bathing beaches but still no shark nets due to the high number of whales migrating along the coast.

“We will put down the red flags allowing the public to swim but no bathing areas will be demarcated as this enhances gathering of people. Social distancing is encouraged,” said Xulu.
