Five people were injured when a ski-boat hit a large wave and tipped at Shelly Beach earlier today.
Initial reports from the scene indicate that the boat’s motors had shut down between the breakers, and some of the crew fell overboard.
The rest jumped ship in case the boat capsized.
According to Belinda Catchpole of Kwazulu Private Ambulance, the people on the boat were holidaymakers.
“Five people weretaken to hospital while another five escaped uninjured.”
