Illegal mussel harvesting in Richards Bay

Taking advantage of the quiet coastal areas during lockdown, poachers have all but wiped out Richards Bay’s mussel population.

 

As can be seen in the video, tens of thousands of mussel shells were recently found at Nyoggies.
