THE eThekwini Municipality has requested residents make use of clear bags for recycling as Cleansing and Solid Waste has faced challenges with the supply and distribution of orange bags across the city. The municipality initially suspended the collection of orange bags from Tuesday, 31 March this year due to Covid-19 and its operations resumed on Monday, 1 June. In a statement, the City noted that the clear bags would be collected during the normal orange bag collection schedule for each area.
“We would like to thank residents for their continued participation and partnership in the recycling programme and the contribution to the sustainability of the environment. Inconvenience caused is highly regretted,” said the City.
