Blue Lagoon clean up commences

(Northglen News)

The Durban Green Corridor (DGC) and Wildlands teams have been working to clean up the disarray at Blue Lagoon, collecting PET for recycling.

In a Facebook post, DGC said that they held a massive beach clean up during the week.

“We would like to thank all the organisations and community members that took part in the clean up. There is still more that needs to be done right by the river mouth towards the M4 bridge and next to the Blue Lagoon pools where we could not reach.  We urge eThekwini Municipality citizens to play their parts by not littering and come with one bin bag, fill it up and leave. These are your beaches. Thank you very much to individuals who have been doing that already,” read the post.

The next phase includes reinstalling litter booms that were washed away.
