Another successful beach and river clean-up took place at Umbogintwini Beach on Saturday, 24 October. A total of 107 bags of litter was collected.
“Many thanks to Durban Bay clean-up, Candice Harding and the PSaltwater Team, Sapphire Coast Tourism as well as community members from Amanzimtoti and Malvern who assisted with the collection of 107 bags of litter. eThekweni Municipality beach management, Jace Govender, and parks department have removed the litter off-site. Thumbs up to Giselles Kitchen and Coffee Shop for the continued support, providing much needed refreshments on completion of the clean up,” said Clean Surf Project’s Romy Wenzel.
Clean Surf Project, PSaltwatercrew and Sapphire Coast Tourism will embark on a joint clean-up campaign this Saturday, 7 November, from 9 am to 11 am at Umbogintwini Beach.
“Parking is available at Amanzimtoti Country Club, Golf Course Road, Athlone Park, Amanzimtoti. Bring shoes, gloves, water, mask and many helping hands along and kindly remember to ensure social distancing. This time around, the clean up team encourages participants to support the SPCA Amanzimtoti by providing much needed pet food such as rice, dry or canned food.”
