Beautifying and enhancing the Sapphire Coast is the purpose of another stunning mural project at Amanzimtoti’s Main Beach. Local artist, Christine Andrews, has once again shown her incredible talent by turning the rather dull wall into a silhouette of beach life which one can experience by visiting the Sapphire Coastline.
“A lovely view to welcome visitors to one of the main swimming beaches, Splash Waterworld, restaurants, shops and the local tourism bureau,” said Sapphire Coast Tourism’s (SCT) Romy Wenzel.
A total of five mural projects have been completed from July 2020 to June, by talented artists and have been proudly sponsored by SCT. Each mural has been given its own theme, highlighting tourism attractions as well as the pledge to protect the environment by keeping surrounding areas clean. Amanzimtoti welcome bridge, taxi rank, Hoot Bridge in Winklespruit and the launch site in Umkomaas have also been given a new and fresh look.
“We thank Justin Bateman and his team from the Amanzimtoti Fire Brigade for the ongoing support of SCT’s community projects. The friendly team did not hesitate to assist with the hosing and cleaning of the wall before the commencement of the mural artwork. Great community spirit.”
